4. How many locking points, and what type of cylinder?

A brand name isn't enough; ask for the number of locking points and whether the cylinder has an anti-snap break point.

5. How many hinges, and what type?

On heavy leaves, this item directly determines the risk of sagging. Ball-bearing, adjustable hinges make life easier when adjustment is needed down the road.

6. What steps does the surface treatment involve?

Is there a phosphate pre-treatment, is a primer applied, is the paint oven-baked? In coastal and industrial areas, this chain determines the door's lifespan.

7. Are installation and delivery included in the price?

Ask for them as separate line items. Quotes that say "included" and then sprout extra charges at delivery are the most common source of quote differences.

8. How many days is production, and is the delivery date in writing?
