What should you look for in a flat entrance door?
A flat entrance door is not exposed to the weather, so the priorities are sound insulation, thermal insulation and security. The leaf is built as a 1.5 + 1.5 mm omega-folded monoblock pan system, 90 mm thick in total, with an 80 kg/m³ rock wool core fill. Rock wool handles both sound and heat, and it is classified as non-combustible.
Can the inner face be different?
Yes. The face looking onto the corridor and the face looking into the flat can be produced in different colors and claddings. The door then keeps the building entrance looking consistent while still matching your interior.
Locking and security
The locking system is specified as optional hook, monoblock or central, using Italian Mottura or Mul-T-Lock. Five fixed 20 mm pins sit on the hinge side, so the leaf stays in the frame even if the hinges are removed. The area around the lock is integrated with 1 mm 304-grade stainless steel.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does a steel door provide sound insulation?
Insulation comes from the core fill and the gasket layout. The leaf is filled with 80 kg/m³ rock wool, and the frame is sealed on three sides and the leaf on four with rubber gaskets. Insulation drops once a gasket loses its spring, so it is worth checking them at the change of seasons.
Will the wall be damaged when my existing door is replaced?
Our installation team removes the old door and fits the new one in its place. Any plaster repair that the removal might call for is discussed separately during the site survey.
Can a smart lock be fitted?
Keypad and card systems can be installed. With electronic systems we recommend keeping a mechanical key as a backup, so a dead battery never leaves you locked out.
