The horizontal-grain red walnut chrome-handle pivot door appears in our catalog under the code BY-164. There's no standard size — the door opening is measured during the survey, and production follows that measurement.

Product Code: BY-164

Panel Surface

The panel layout is a single leaf. The surface treatment is horizontal-grain and chrome-handle. The catalog color is a red walnut tone.

The finish and hardware aren't fixed; the door can be produced with any of the alternatives on the finish options page.

The design language is best described as modern pivot.

Who Is This Model For?

It's typically used for villa entrances and wide-frontage detached houses projects. The single-leaf layout adapts directly to standard door openings. Since the load rests on the floor rather than the hinges, the leaf can be considerably wider and thicker. It needs clearance to swing, so it isn't suitable for narrow entrances that open directly onto a staircase; the conditions are listed on the when a pivot door makes sense page.

Production and Installation Process

Production starts with an on-site measurement. How the measurement is taken from the door opening is covered on the how we take the measurement page; material choices are covered on the galvanized vs. cold-rolled steel and lock systems pages. The technical specifications for this model are in the table below. After installation, the maintenance and lifespan guidance and warranty and service terms apply.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does BY-164 cost?

We don't publish a list price, because every door is built to measure. The final amount depends on the size of the door opening, the finish, glass, and lock you choose. After a free on-site survey, we provide a written, itemized quote — we explain what drives the price on the steel door prices page.

Can the color of the BY-164 door be changed?

Yes, the color isn't fixed. The catalog shows red walnut, but the finish is chosen to suit each project; on the finish options page we cover which surface works best where.

How is the measurement taken for BY-164?

We take the measurement during the site survey — no action is needed from you. It's the door opening that's measured, not the existing leaf; we've explained the method on the how we take the measurement page.

How can I order the BY-164 model?

You can fill out the pre-order form on the site, or call us at 0532 689 21 46. Mentioning the BY-164 product code in your request speeds things up. You can browse other models on the pivot steel door models page.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the lead time for a custom villa door?

Production takes 20-25 days from the day the specification is approved. Custom detailing — carved cladding, oversized leaves, special glass — can extend that, and we confirm the date in writing before starting. Ocean freight time to the destination port is added on top.

How are steel doors packaged for sea freight export?

Each door is crated in a wooden case built to its own dimensions, with edge protection and corner blocks, then strapped to prevent movement inside the container. Full container loading is used for project quantities; single doors and small orders ship as groupage cargo.

What measurements do you need to quote?

The width, height and wall thickness of the rough opening, in millimetres or in inches — whichever your drawings use. Photographs of the opening from inside and outside help us confirm the swing direction and the frame detail. No site visit is needed.

Can you manufacture to imperial (inch) dimensions?

Yes. An opening given as 36 x 80 inches is manufactured to that dimension directly. Nothing is converted to a nearest metric size and rounded, so the door arrives at the size your drawing specifies.

Who installs the door at the destination?

Your own contractor. Every shipment includes an installation drawing and the frame fixing set, and the frame is designed to be set into the opening without special tooling.

What export documents travel with the shipment?

Commercial invoice, packing list and certificate of origin, plus whatever else the customs broker at the destination requires. Documentation is prepared before the container leaves the factory.
