The BY-282 horizontal-grain red walnut double-handle pivot door is a pivot steel door model built to measure. Like every door we make, this model is built to measure — there's no ready-made leaf held in stock. The finish in the photo is red walnut cladding.

Product Code: BY-282

Surface Pattern and Finish

The model is configured as a double leaf. The panel is designed with a horizontal-grain, double-handle pattern. The surface is finished in red walnut.

Color, pattern, and handle can all be adjusted to suit the project; we compare the options on the finish options page.

The design language is best described as modern pivot.

Where Is It Used?

It's typically used for office and plaza entrances and hotel and showroom entrances projects. Thanks to the side sections, wide door openings can be covered with a single configuration. Since the load rests on the floor rather than the hinges, the leaf can be considerably wider and thicker. It needs clearance to swing, so it isn't suitable for narrow entrances that open directly onto a staircase; the conditions are listed on the when a pivot door makes sense page.

Production and Installation Process

Production starts with an on-site measurement. How the measurement is taken from the door opening is covered on the how we take the measurement page; material choices are covered on the galvanized vs. cold-rolled steel and lock systems pages. The technical specifications for this model are in the table below. After delivery, the warranty and service coverage applies; see the maintenance and lifespan page for how to protect the finish.

Frequently Asked Questions

How is the price of BY-282 determined?

There's no fixed price — since every leaf is manufactured to measure, the amount varies with the size, the finish, and the lock you select. We send a detailed written quote after the survey. We've broken down the cost items on the steel door prices page.

Can BY-282 be made in a different color?

It can be. red walnut is simply the finish shown in the photo, not a fixed choice — you can pick from the alternatives on the finish options page.

How does the measurement stage work when ordering BY-282?

We take the measurement during the site survey — no action is needed from you. It's the door opening that's measured, not the existing leaf; we've explained the method on the how we take the measurement page.

How do I get a quote for BY-282?

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the lead time for a custom villa door?

Production takes 20-25 days from the day the specification is approved. Custom detailing — carved cladding, oversized leaves, special glass — can extend that, and we confirm the date in writing before starting. Ocean freight time to the destination port is added on top.

How are steel doors packaged for sea freight export?

Each door is crated in a wooden case built to its own dimensions, with edge protection and corner blocks, then strapped to prevent movement inside the container. Full container loading is used for project quantities; single doors and small orders ship as groupage cargo.

What measurements do you need to quote?

The width, height and wall thickness of the rough opening, in millimetres or in inches — whichever your drawings use. Photographs of the opening from inside and outside help us confirm the swing direction and the frame detail. No site visit is needed.

Can you manufacture to imperial (inch) dimensions?

Yes. An opening given as 36 x 80 inches is manufactured to that dimension directly. Nothing is converted to a nearest metric size and rounded, so the door arrives at the size your drawing specifies.

Who installs the door at the destination?

Your own contractor. Every shipment includes an installation drawing and the frame fixing set, and the frame is designed to be set into the opening without special tooling.

What export documents travel with the shipment?

Commercial invoice, packing list and certificate of origin, plus whatever else the customs broker at the destination requires. Documentation is prepared before the container leaves the factory.
