The BY-196 round-glass-porthole honey-toned pivot door is a pivot steel door model manufactured to measure. It's manufactured to measure — whatever the width and height of your entrance, the leaf is built to match. The finish shown in the photo is honey-toned cladding.

Product Code: BY-196

Surface Pattern and Finish

It's produced as a single leaf. The leaf is designed with a round glass porthole. The color applied is honey-toned.

The finish shown is the catalog choice — a different cladding can be selected from our cladding options.

The design language is described as modern pivot.

Where Is It Used?

It's chosen primarily for office/plaza entrances and wide-fronted detached houses. The one-piece leaf presents an unbroken surface when viewed from outside. Because the load rests on the floor rather than on hinges, the leaf can be considerably wider and thicker. Because it needs room to swing, it isn't suited to narrow entrances that open directly onto a staircase — the conditions are laid out on our when to choose a pivot door page.

Production and Installation Process

Production starts with an on-site measurement. How the door opening is measured is covered on our how measurements are taken page; material choices are compared on our galvanized vs. cold-rolled steel and lock systems pages. The technical specifications for this model are in the table below. After installation, our care and lifespan and warranty and service terms apply.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does BY-196 cost?

There's no fixed price — since every leaf is manufactured to measure, the amount depends on size, cladding and lock choice. We send a written, itemized quote after the survey. We've broken down the line items on our steel door prices page.

Can the color of the BY-196 door be changed?

Yes. The honey-toned finish shown is this model's catalog choice; it can be produced in other colors using compact laminate, composite, water-transfer or wood-effect cladding. We've compared the options on our cladding options page.

Do I need to take the measurement myself?

We take the measurement during the survey; nothing is expected of you. The measurement is taken from the door opening, not the existing leaf — we've explained the method on our how measurements are taken page.

How do I get a quote for BY-196?

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the lead time for a custom villa door?

Production takes 20-25 days from the day the specification is approved. Custom detailing — carved cladding, oversized leaves, special glass — can extend that, and we confirm the date in writing before starting. Ocean freight time to the destination port is added on top.

How are steel doors packaged for sea freight export?

Each door is crated in a wooden case built to its own dimensions, with edge protection and corner blocks, then strapped to prevent movement inside the container. Full container loading is used for project quantities; single doors and small orders ship as groupage cargo.

What measurements do you need to quote?

The width, height and wall thickness of the rough opening, in millimetres or in inches — whichever your drawings use. Photographs of the opening from inside and outside help us confirm the swing direction and the frame detail. No site visit is needed.

Can you manufacture to imperial (inch) dimensions?

Yes. An opening given as 36 x 80 inches is manufactured to that dimension directly. Nothing is converted to a nearest metric size and rounded, so the door arrives at the size your drawing specifies.

Who installs the door at the destination?

Your own contractor. Every shipment includes an installation drawing and the frame fixing set, and the frame is designed to be set into the opening without special tooling.

What export documents travel with the shipment?

Commercial invoice, packing list and certificate of origin, plus whatever else the customs broker at the destination requires. Documentation is prepared before the container leaves the factory.
