This vertical louvered walnut corridor-entrance pivot door is listed in our catalog under code BY-229. It is made to measure; whatever the width and height of your entrance, the leaf is built to match.

Product Code: BY-229

Pattern and Color

The door is built as a single leaf. The surface is worked with vertical louvers, composed for corridor entrances. The finish is a walnut tone.

Color, pattern and handle choices can all be tailored to your project; the options are compared on our surface finish options page.

The design language is best described as modern pivot.

Which Entrances Does It Suit?

It is chosen primarily for wide-fronted detached homes and office and plaza entrances. The one-piece leaf presents an unbroken surface when viewed from outside. The leaf turns on bearings set into the floor and the head of the frame, making sizes possible that hinges could never carry. In return, it needs swing clearance in front of and behind the door. Our when to choose a pivot door page explains which entrances are suitable.

Production and Installation Process

Measurements are taken from the door opening, not the existing leaf; we explain the process step by step on the how measurements are taken page. Frame, sheet thickness, infill and lock specifications are listed in the table below. Sheet steel choices are compared on the galvanized or DKP sheet steel page, and lock alternatives on the lock systems page. The care steps that extend the door's life are on the care and lifespan page, and the coverage terms on the warranty and service page.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does the BY-229 model cost?

We cannot quote a price before measuring. The size of the door opening and your choice of finish, glass and lock all directly affect the total; the survey is free, and an itemized quotation follows. See our steel door prices page for details.

Can I have this model in a color other than walnut?

Yes — the color is not fixed. Walnut is what appears in the catalog, but the finish is decided per project; on our surface finish options page we explain which surface works best where.

Do I need to take the measurements myself?

We take the measurements during the survey; nothing is required on your side. Measurements come from the door opening, not the existing leaf — the method is described on our how measurements are taken page.

How can I order the BY-229 model?

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the lead time for a custom villa door?

Production takes 20-25 days from the day the specification is approved. Custom detailing — carved cladding, oversized leaves, special glass — can extend that, and we confirm the date in writing before starting. Ocean freight time to the destination port is added on top.

How are steel doors packaged for sea freight export?

Each door is crated in a wooden case built to its own dimensions, with edge protection and corner blocks, then strapped to prevent movement inside the container. Full container loading is used for project quantities; single doors and small orders ship as groupage cargo.

What measurements do you need to quote?

The width, height and wall thickness of the rough opening, in millimetres or in inches — whichever your drawings use. Photographs of the opening from inside and outside help us confirm the swing direction and the frame detail. No site visit is needed.

Can you manufacture to imperial (inch) dimensions?

Yes. An opening given as 36 x 80 inches is manufactured to that dimension directly. Nothing is converted to a nearest metric size and rounded, so the door arrives at the size your drawing specifies.

Who installs the door at the destination?

Your own contractor. Every shipment includes an installation drawing and the frame fixing set, and the frame is designed to be set into the opening without special tooling.

What export documents travel with the shipment?

Commercial invoice, packing list and certificate of origin, plus whatever else the customs broker at the destination requires. Documentation is prepared before the container leaves the factory.
