BY-257 is the product code of the vertical louvered black-to-walnut pivot door in our catalog. It is not sold in stock sizes; your entrance is measured on site and the leaf is built to that measurement. The image shows the black finish.

Product Code: BY-257

Leaf Surface

The model is configured as a single leaf. It features a vertical louvered leaf with a walnut transition. The surface is finished in black.

The finish in the image is the catalog choice — a different finish can be selected from our surface finish options.

The design language is best described as modern pivot.

Where Is It Used?

It is chosen primarily for hotel and showroom entrances and villa entrances. The single-leaf layout adapts readily to conventional door openings. The leaf turns on bearings set into the floor and the head of the frame, making sizes possible that hinges could never carry. In return, it needs swing clearance in front of and behind the door. Our when to choose a pivot door page explains which entrances are suitable.

From Measurement to Installation

Measurements are taken from the door opening, not the existing leaf; we explain the process step by step on the how measurements are taken page. Frame, sheet thickness, infill and lock specifications are listed in the table below. Sheet steel choices are compared on the galvanized or DKP sheet steel page, and lock alternatives on the lock systems page. After delivery, our warranty and service coverage applies; see the care and lifespan page for keeping the surface in good condition.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does the BY-257 model cost?

We publish no list price, because every door is made to measure. The total is determined by the size of the door opening and the finish, glass and lock you select. After a free survey we provide a written quotation itemized line by line; what moves the price is explained on our steel door prices page.

Can I have this model in a color other than black?

Yes, it can. Black is simply the finish shown in the photo, not a fixed choice — you can pick from the alternatives on our surface finish options page.

How does measuring work when ordering the BY-257?

Our survey team measures on site. If you would still like to know how it works, the how measurements are taken page explains the three points we measure from.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the lead time for a custom villa door?

Production takes 20-25 days from the day the specification is approved. Custom detailing — carved cladding, oversized leaves, special glass — can extend that, and we confirm the date in writing before starting. Ocean freight time to the destination port is added on top.

How are steel doors packaged for sea freight export?

Each door is crated in a wooden case built to its own dimensions, with edge protection and corner blocks, then strapped to prevent movement inside the container. Full container loading is used for project quantities; single doors and small orders ship as groupage cargo.

What measurements do you need to quote?

The width, height and wall thickness of the rough opening, in millimetres or in inches — whichever your drawings use. Photographs of the opening from inside and outside help us confirm the swing direction and the frame detail. No site visit is needed.

Can you manufacture to imperial (inch) dimensions?

Yes. An opening given as 36 x 80 inches is manufactured to that dimension directly. Nothing is converted to a nearest metric size and rounded, so the door arrives at the size your drawing specifies.

Who installs the door at the destination?

Your own contractor. Every shipment includes an installation drawing and the frame fixing set, and the frame is designed to be set into the opening without special tooling.

What export documents travel with the shipment?

Commercial invoice, packing list and certificate of origin, plus whatever else the customs broker at the destination requires. Documentation is prepared before the container leaves the factory.
