Steel Door Prices 2026 — What Determines the Price?
There is no single figure for the price of a steel door, because a door is not a product sold in ready-made sizes. The same model costs a different amount in two different entrances: the dimensions change, the finish changes, the installation conditions change. On this page we explain what determines the price, item by item, so you can compare the quotes you receive — ours included — line by line.
Why don't we publish prices on the site?
Because they would be misleading. Figures you see online, like "villa doors from 84,000 TL", are the lowest amount quoted for one specific size and one specific finish; if your entrance is not that size, that price does not apply to you. Since we build every door to measurements taken on site, we can only state the amount after a survey. The survey is free and carries no obligation.
The 7 items that determine a steel door's price
1. The size of the door opening
Width, height and wall thickness. Non-standard dimensions mean more sheet steel and more labor. As the dimensions grow, the leaf gets heavier, which changes the number of hinges, the hinge type and, in some cases, the choice of lock. A double-leaf entrance is priced differently from a single leaf of the same total width.
2. The type of finish
This is the item that moves the price the most. Powder coating is the most economical option; compact composite and solid wood sit at the top end. On a door facing the exterior, the finish is not just a matter of looks but of lifespan: the wrong finish deforms in three years, the right one holds up for fifteen. The options, and which exposure each one suits, are covered in detail in our finish guide.
3. The lock system
Within the Italian Mottura and Mul-T-Lock ranges, hook-bolt, monoblock and central options are priced differently. As the number of locking points increases, so do both the materials and the labor on the leaf. Adding card, keypad or fingerprint access is a separate item. What the number of locking points actually does is explained in our lock guide.
4. Glass and wrought-iron work
Glazed models use Şişecam 5+5 mm laminated glass. The size and number of the glass panels, and the intricacy of the wrought-iron work, directly affect the amount. Hand-worked wrought-iron patterns cost noticeably more than machine-cut geometric designs.
5. Hardware quality
Our standard is first-grade 304 stainless steel. In salty air, such as by the sea, we recommend 316 Häfele stainless brass; it costs more, but in that climate 304 stains over time. The choice of pull handle, knocker and kick plate is also itemized separately.
6. Door type
Pivot doors cost more than hinged doors of the same size, because they require floor and ceiling bearings plus additional body reinforcement. Building entrance doors carry reinforced profiles, 304 stainless kick plates and a push-to-open release system. Apartment entrance doors are generally the most economical group.
7. Installation conditions
Removing the old door, which floor you are on, elevator access and whether the wall is reinforced concrete or brick all determine how long installation takes. This is why these things are checked in person during the survey — a firm figure given over the phone was given without seeing any of them.
What to look at when comparing prices
When collecting quotes from different companies, insist that the following lines are in writing. If these items are not specified, the two quotes are not describing the same thing:
| Sheet grade and thickness | How many mm for the frame, how many + how many mm for the leaf, which grade (ours: Ereğli A1) |
|---|---|
| Leaf thickness | Bare metal and total thickness stated separately (ours: 70 mm / 90 mm) |
| Infill | Material and density — this is what determines insulation (ours: 80 kg/m³ rock wool) |
| Reinforcement | How many mm of sheet/angle at the lock and hinge zones (ours: 3 mm) |
| Lock brand | Not "security lock" — the brand and model name |
| Glass | Laminated or not, how many + how many mm, which brand |
| Warranty | What is covered for how many years; production and components separately |
| Installation | Included in the price or not, removal included or not, how many days |
Our full production standard is published openly on the Production, Certifications and Trademark page. We publish it so you can compare our quote against any other.
Right and wrong ways to bring the price down
Right: Stepping down a tier in the finish, making the glass panel smaller, choosing a machine-cut pattern instead of wrought iron, using 304 stainless instead of 316 for the hardware (if you are not by the sea).
Wrong: Cutting back on sheet thickness, infill density, reinforcement or lock class. These make up not the visible side of the door but the side that does its job; savings made here come back to haunt you within a few years.
How to get a quote
Note the code of the model you like (for example BD-TR70, TR518 or BY-264), send it to us or call 0532 689 21 46. Our team comes to your address, measures the door opening and checks the installation conditions on site. A written, line-by-line itemized quote follows. The survey is free, and the quote carries no obligation.
Frequently Asked Questions
How much does a steel door cost?
We do not publish prices on the site. Every door is made to measurements taken on site, so the price depends on the size of the opening, the type of finish, the lock system, the glazing and the installation conditions. After the free site survey you receive a written quote broken down item by item.
Why is a villa door priced differently from a building entrance door?
The two are built for different jobs. A villa door serves a single household and is made with the finish and seal details needed to stand up to the weather outside. A building entrance door is opened hundreds of times a day, so it carries a reinforced profile, a 304 stainless steel kick plate and a self-closing push-button release system, and it is usually larger as well.
Why does a pivot door cost more?
A pivot leaf transfers its weight to the floor and ceiling bearings rather than to hinges. That bearing system, the extra reinforcement around the pivot shaft and the floor preparation all add cost compared with a hinged door of the same size. In return, you get a leaf in widths and heights that standard hinges could never carry.
Do you charge for the site survey?
No. The on-site survey and measurement are free and put you under no obligation to buy.
Is installation included in the price?
Yes. Our own installation team fits the door and this is included in the quote. Removing your old door is also assessed during the survey and itemised in the quote.
Can I pay in installments or by credit card?
There is no online sale or credit card payment through the site. Products are sold on a pre-order basis, and payment terms are discussed in the quote that follows the site survey.
How much does an apartment building entrance door cost?
For building entrance doors, the main things that determine the price are the size of the opening, the number of leaves, the finish and the access system (card, keypad or conventional). We also prepare separate quotes for management boards ordering entrance doors in bulk.
