Warranty and Service
The short answer: If a door we manufactured develops a defect caused by production or workmanship, we fix it — no matter how many years have passed. There is no time limit on this warranty. On delivery, you also receive an official 2-year warranty certificate.
The warranty has three layers
1. Production and workmanship — unlimited
Our warranty on any production-related defect has no expiry date. We manufacture the door ourselves; because the body, frame, welding and installation are all our work, we do not put a time limit on our responsibility for defects arising from them. This covers issues such as weld failure, frame warping and alignment problems caused by installation.
2. Official warranty certificate — 2 years
On delivery, an official 2-year warranty certificate is issued. This is the document required by law, and it sits alongside — not in place of — the unlimited commitment above.
3. Component warranties — vary by manufacturer
Locks, hinges, hardware and cladding materials carry their own manufacturers' warranties, and the terms differ. For example, lock systems can come with warranties of up to 25 years. Which components on your door are covered, and for how long, depends on the lock and cladding you choose and is stated separately in your quote.
What does the unlimited warranty cover — and what doesn't it?
| Covered | Not covered |
|---|---|
| Welding and body defects | Misuse and impact damage |
| Frame manufacturing defects | Repairs or modifications by unauthorized parties |
| Alignment issues caused by installation | Natural disasters and fire |
| Faults caused by workmanship | Normal wear (gasket fatigue, surface fading) |
| Component failures — their own warranties apply |
Why no time limit?
We don't sell doors as a middleman; we build them in our own factory. A defect that originates in production is the result of our own work, and whether it surfaces in year five or year ten does not change our responsibility. That is why we place no time limit on production and workmanship.
Requesting service
For service, call 0532 689 21 46. Including your door's product code in your request lets us arrive with the correct spare parts. The product code appears on your order document and on the product page (for example BD-TR70, TR518, C-TR709).
When should you call for service?
- The door rubs against the frame, or the gap between the leaf and frame is uneven
- The lock is hard to turn or the key sticks
- The door opens on its own or doesn't close fully
- The gasket has come loose, hardened or been crushed
Maintenance tips
- Wipe the cladding surface with a damp cloth; avoid abrasive powders and steel wool.
- Apply a light machine oil to the hinges once a year.
- Use graphite or a lock spray on the lock cylinder — liquid oil attracts dust and clogs the mechanism.
- On exterior doors, check the condition of the gaskets at the change of seasons.

Why are the warranty terms listed separately?
A single claim like "5-year warranty" is incomplete information, because a door is not a single-piece product. The production and workmanship are ours; the lock and hardware are made by other manufacturers. Forcing all of these into one term means either shortening one or overstating the other.
That is why the warranty comes in three parts: unlimited coverage for defects in production and workmanship; an official 2-year warranty certificate at delivery; and component warranties that vary by manufacturer — up to 25 years on the lock system.
What exactly does an unlimited warranty mean?
Telling a defect apart from wear is straightforward: a defect is there from the start, wear develops over time. A welding fault, a bending error, incorrect reinforcement or an alignment problem caused by installation is a production defect, and we fix it even if it appears years later. A gasket hardening, a cylinder wearing out over the years, or hinge wear caused by lack of maintenance falls under normal use.
What the warranty does not cover
- Damage from impact, forced entry or attempted burglary
- Wear caused by lack of maintenance (unlubricated hinges, uncleaned bearings)
- Repairs or part replacements by unauthorized parties
- Surface deterioration on natural wood cladding due to neglected maintenance
- Wall movement caused by the building settling — this is not a door defect, but we will realign the door for you
After the warranty period ends
Our service and spare-parts support continues. That is one of the advantages of made-to-measure production: the parts are already on our production line. Items such as gaskets, cylinders, handles and hinges remain available years later.
How to request service
Call 0532 689 21 46 with your product code (for example BD-TR70, TR518 or BY-264). The code lets us look up the exact dimensions and configuration your door was built to, which is why we recommend keeping it on file.
Frequently Asked Questions
How long is the warranty on a steel door?
Our warranty against manufacturing and workmanship defects has no time limit — even if a defect appears years later, we will put it right. On delivery you also receive an official 2-year warranty certificate. Warranties on components such as locks and hardware vary by their manufacturer; lock systems can carry a warranty of up to 25 years.
What exactly does the unlimited warranty cover?
The parts we make ourselves: the leaf, the frame, the welding and the installation workmanship. There is no time limit on defects arising from that work. Misuse, impact damage, unauthorised alterations, natural disasters and normal wear (seals perishing, surfaces fading) are not covered.
How many years is the lock warranty?
The lock warranty depends on the system you choose and can run to 25 years. The warranty period for the lock fitted to your door is stated separately in the quote.
Do you provide a warranty certificate?
Yes. An official 2-year warranty certificate is issued on delivery. Our open-ended commitment on manufacturing and workmanship defects sits alongside that certificate, not in place of it.
I have lost my warranty certificate. What should I do?
Call us with your product code; we keep the production record and can issue a replacement certificate. The code tells us exactly what size and configuration your door was made in.
Is the door covered by the warranty after an attempted break-in?
Damage caused by forced entry is not covered by the warranty. That said, even if the door still closes, the leaf and frame may have been distorted, so always have it checked after an incident like this.
Is there a charge for service calls?
There is no charge for manufacturing or workmanship defects. Where the problem is caused by a lack of maintenance, external factors or unauthorised alterations, parts and labour are chargeable; in every case we come and look at the door first and tell you where you stand.
